Our first show was hosted by ArtsRolla!, Cedar Street Center for the Arts and Ozark Actors Theatre. It was
a benefit to raise funds for new lights in the theatre. It was a hailing success and we bought 4 new lights with money
to spare. You could cut the Christmas spirit with a candy cane it was so festive. We had to do it again!
Decked out in Christmas colors (we didn't even plan the wardrobe), Gerald Jones, DeWayne Price and Jimmy Allison, group
around the one mic to close in on the harmonies.
Huddling around the mic, we took turns singing our songs and picking the tunes. The first show
was thrown together in two weeks and they said it couldn't be done. Jimmy said that anyway but thank goodness we
don't listen to him.
Gerald Jones was the perfect choice for telling the Christmas story for the children in the audience. He read,
Twas the Night Before Christmas in his usual humorous fashion. We figure if the story has lasted at least a
century of Christmas's, then why tamper with perfection. He'll read it again this year.
From the beginning the idea of having dancers was appealing and it just so happen Deborah knew a few in
town. Who would have known that later one of the dancers, Emory Caudill (in the gold skirt), would get the bluegrass
bug and become a bluegrass singer. This year she will be singing on the show.
