Leach Theatre Information
Housed in Castleman Hall, is the
Thomas W. & Frances V. Leach Theatre,
which seats 656. Leach Theatre
opened on June 8, 1991, and is the home of the UMR Band and Orchestra, and Theater departments. It is also the resident theater
for the Campus Performing Arts Series, the Family Series and the UMR Film Festival at Castleman, which present performing
and visual arts events for the University and the surrounding communities.
Leach Theatre hosts an average of over 100 events per academic
year. Past events include the Bolshoi Ballet, The Flying Karamazov Brothers, the St. Louis Symphony, the National Shakespeare
Company, and the Arkansas Repertory Theater, among many others. Leach
Theatre is also available for rental to community and other outside groups, schedule
permitting.
